COVAL Vision for 2025

November 28, 20228 min read

There was some email I sent out at the beginning of the year where I talked about the power of creating a vision.

In it, I shared my 2023 vision that I wrote for COVAL in 2019. I also mentioned that since COVID, that vision had changed and once I finished writing it, then I would share with everyone.

Well, as I was reviewing it today, I realized that despite finishing it last April, I never actually shared it.

Below is my professional vision for April of 2025. I hope that you find it inspirational and if you have any questions on my process behind it, then please feel free to fire away. Thanks for reading!

April 2025 Vision (COVAL)

COMPANY SNAPSHOT

It was almost 5 years ago that the path of the business would change forever. I didn’t see it coming & if you would have told me that a global pandemic was coming then I would have thought you were crazy. As I look back though, I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to redirect the path of the company as it has resulted in me being much happier, less stressed, and more fulfilled.

I help 150 people each week live healthier, happier, and more fulfilled lives through coaching online and in-person. I’ve found a very efficient balance of my in-person vs online training which leaves me with a tremendous amount of energy so that I can focus on other areas in my personal life.

SEMI-PRIVATE TRAINING

I work with 50 people in-person for my semi-private training. I have ZERO stress about maintaining my client load as I have a waitlist that runs 35 people deep which I’ve been able to build through referrals and my newsletter.

I’ve managed to keep my semi-private hours to no more than 25 per week which is the perfect threshold to keep my energy up which allows me to be fully engaged and not get burned out.

I’ve continued to evolve the semi-private training model over the years with two big goals in mind for my clients:

1) Help them become more self-sufficient

2) Make shifting to a healthier lifestyle as least stressful as possible

Allowing them to come in and workout while I’m not there has been a game changer and it’s been so satisfying to see clients step up to the plate and start coming in on their own. The feeling is like what I would imagine people talk about when a father has a “proud dad moment”.

The COVAL Coaching app has evolved to be their one stop shop for all things related to their health & fitness; training programs, lifestyle programs, progress, measurements, tracking photos, and so much more!

ATHLETE TRAINING

I’ve racked up quite a reputation for developing athletes and it’s common knowledge among parents, coaches, and athletes that if you want to take your on-court performance to the next level, then you come see me. Acting as a mentor to the kids is the most fulfilling thing that I do. I know what it’s like to be a teenager and it’s not easy. I’m acting as the person that I wish I had when I was their age.

I’ve garnered the attention of athletes and coaches at the collegiate and professional level which has lead to more opportunities to do consulting and coaching with some of the elite of the elite athletes out there.

On average, I carry 25 athletes on my client roster throughout the year with that number increasing to 35 during the summer time.

MY HOURS

I’m lucky now as I have full control of my schedule. I have ZERO problem with saying “no” to things which is huge for me both acutely and chronically. Acutely in the sense it helps me stay focused on the things that matter most. Chronically in the sense that I don’t stress over saying “no”. I get a lot asked of me and in the past have carried a lot of guilt with saying “no”, but those days are gone.

If I want to leave for a needed vacation or an opportunity for a consulting gig then I can. I’ve finally put myself in a position where I can have that kind of freedom.

One thing that helped me get here is giving so much of myself to my clients early on when we made the switch. It was a bit more laborious in the early stages, but what it resulted in was my clients become more empowered and self-reliant.

This is a win-win for my clients and myself. For the clients this means better long-term results, feeling more confident in their abilities to reach their goals, and less sessions with me which means they save more money in the process that can be allocated to other areas of their lives.

For me, it’s more rewarding as clients get better results and more enjoyable as well as now I have more freedom.

LOCATION

I’ve got about 2 months left on my current lease, but Heba and I purchased a 10 acre lot just outside of Ann Arbor where we will build our dream home which will include a pole barn. This pole barn will be the new permanent location of COVAL.

This isn’t just any “pole barn” though. This is a state-of-the-art 4,500 square foot facility with everything that anyone could ever need in a gym including a half-court basketball court.

We have the weight room of course, but then there’s the “recovery room” with an infrared sauna, cold plunge tub, supplements and compression therapy.

I have a loft where I have my office and do my work.

We have the most high-tech security system to ensure that everyone is safe & protected along with my equipment. We also have 2, Doggo Argentino’s that are Schutzund trained if anyone wants to try and go the extra mile of messing with our stuff.

This place is pure serenity as it is tucked away in the countryside in the woods with a creek flowing the heart of it.

PRESENCE WITHIN MY INDUSTRY

I like to keep a low profile. I basically am non-existent on social media. I post only when I feel like it and usually it’s when I want to show off the success that clients and kids are having.

Despite keeping a low profile, I’ve caught the attention of many with the business model that I run along with the results that my clients and athletes get. This has lead to consulting opportunities, but I’m not sure I want to put too much into that at this time so I’m very selective about what I do. Basically, if the price is right, I take the opportunity. If not, then I don’t spend my time and energy on those requests.

MY TEAM

5 years ago it was me, 3 full-time coaches, 2 part-time coaches, and 1 full-time administrative assistant. Now it’s just me coaching and one full-time administrative assistant. My AA does an AMAZING job and truly makes my life easier to manage. I’m beyond grateful for them.

MY PROMISE

I promise to make this experience about you. This is about your wants. Your needs. Your goals.

I promise that I will use my expertise in a manner that best suites you to coach you and guide you along your health & fitness journey. I promise, that in an industry where the most profit is found in creating a general experience that focuses on the group rather than the individual, that I will stay committed to making this experience all about you and continuing to evolve that experience for you.

I promise to continue to push myself and grow as a professional for your benefit. I will continue to study topics related to human performance (physiology, biomechanics, psychology, nutrition, so much more) in order to get you the best results possible.

Do you simply want to shed a few pounds, feel stronger, and more confident? I can help you with that.

Do you want to be able to travel the world and enjoy any physical adventure that comes your way? I can help you with that.

Do you want to have enough energy to keep up with your grandkids each time that you spend time with them? I can help you with that.

Do you want to earn an athletic scholarship in order to get your school paid for and live a life long dream? I can help you with that.

No matter what your goal is, as long as your committed to the process and not looking for a quick fix, we can help you

CLOSING

It’s been a wild ride since COVID happened in 2020, but I told people back then that I truly believed that we were going to come out of that time better for having gone through all of the adversity that came along with that time…that is, if you chose to make the best of it and come out better. I can say that it changed my life for the better which I know has made everyone that I surround myself with lives better as well.
